Gameplay:
Yet again Sonic and Dr. Eggman are fighting over something. Except this time Eggman tricks Sonic into this machine while they're both in outer space and literally fires Sonic into the earth destroying his chaos crystals and making him into this weird werewolf type Sonic. After firing Sonic to the earth Eggman causes the earth to split open in pieces causing the earths Gaia to come out. (Gaia you say? Isn't that from FF: Spirits Within?)
Sonic needs to make things alright for the earth again and also put it back together while doing side quests to help others out. During the day you get to play good ol' Sonic but, at night Weresonic comes out to play.
Honestly, it feels good to play Sonic again. I forgot how insanely fast he is. It's a flash back to the days when I was a little girl playing him in 2D collecting coins. There are new maneuvers to be had like skidding around corners or sliding under archways. Let me tell you about the bosses! It doesn't take more than maybe 5 or 10 hits before the boss is defeated! Just like back in the day (can you tell I'm feeling nostalgic). Playing normal Sonic is by far them most fun of the two versions of him in this game.
Sonic the Werehog is okay to play. He is pretty slow and is only available at night. He is better at fighting than Sonic the Hedgehog but while you play Weresonic you also have to tolerate the classic horrid camera angles. I find myself yelling at the TV saying, “No, turn this way. No this way! OMG now I'm turned around... WTH”. Why can't the camera just stay behind Sonic? WHY?! Anyway, back to his fighting style. You get to slam things around, pick items up and chuck 'em at mobs and throw your arms out to punch or grab something from far away. Fighting up to 10 mobs at a time is no problem.
Controls:
To control Sonic first you need the Wii remote and nunchuck. To make Sonic do certain maneuvers you need to shake one or the other but you don't need to move them in order to make Sonic run around. Just push forwards on the nunchuck. The controls are fine IMO but the camera angles sometimes make it real tough to control Sonic properly.
Graphics:
The graphics are an upgrade from the dreamcast (of course, right). But everything is relatively in the same bubbly cartoonish way. Some things look a bit pixilated like when Sonic is in the Gaia temples, but that's about it. The towns looked polished and so does Sonic but I thought it lacked a more updated look.
Sound:
There's this sidekick named Chip that Sonic comes across after he almost crushes him when he crash lands on earth... and Chip has one of the most annoying voices. The voice acting in the game is not very good and all the voices are generally in a tone that would be maybe amusing for little kids. But, hey it is rated as E +10. I just can't handle the voices very well. The music is pretty generic when there is some.
Replay Value:
I do really enjoy playing normal Sonic racing around collecting coins and running through hoops but I'm not a huge fan of Weresonic. I'd probably play it more often if I didn't have to play Weresonic.

Own, Rent, Avoid:
Own: If you've never played Sonic before go buy this game now. If you are a fan this one should be owned but prepare for the disappointment that is Weresonic.
Last Thoughts:
For all you die hard Sonic fans, this ones a keeper. Even though you have to tolerate Weresonic you still get to play high-speed Sonic who seems faster than ever! Even if you aren't a die hard Sonic fan, you should still try this game out.
