Belkin Speed Pad

Company: Belkin
Website: n52te
Category: PC gadgets
Purchase: Amazon
Most PC gamers after a while of gaming start to get tired of the keyboard. It's huge and a lot of the times you don't use certain spells and abilities because the key for it is not easy to reach from your hands resting position.
I've noticed there aren't too many gaming pads that look sleek and awesome along with good customization of the keys. The n52te seriously has it all. I love this gaming pad. Not only does it look awesome and is extremely comfortable but there are 27 buttons to program along with 3 different keymaps. So thats 81 buttons to customize to your liking. The n52te allows for creating macros which can be real handy for a successful combo of spells and abilities. Also, If you like to play in the dark there is a switch on the bottom of the pad that allows you to turn off or on the blue lighting of the keys.
Only issue I've had with the n52te is sometimes I have a hard time updating the software. It might just be me though. I have an easy time updating the driver but not the firmware. Aside from that this is a must have for any PC gamer.

Mana Potions

Company: Harcos, Inc
Website: Mana Potions
Category: Consumables
Purchase: Mana Pot
Purchase: Health Pot
I remember one night playing warcrack and I was in an instance with one of my friends and I was out of mana pots so I asked him for one. After pointing out that I'm a cheap noob for forgetting to bring some with me and LOLing at me afterwards, he handed me the little blue vial and then I said, “hey, wouldn't it be cool if someone actually made real mana pots?” Of course he was like, “...wow, I think you need to take a break from the game... again. Lawl.” Besides the fact that he was right, I later found out (and by later I mean about a year later) that someone was actually making REAL mana pots! That someone is Harcos, Inc.
The company started out with the creation of Mana Potions and later on created Health Potions. They are both energy shots. I've noticed that they don't get you all cracked out like normal energy drinks/ shots etc do but give you an initial burst of energy that just seems to last. After taking one and after the initial burst of energy dies off I forget usually that I even drank one as the day goes on at work. Course, then I'm thinking, “dangit, the freaking shot didn't work!” But, by the time I get home I usually still have tons of energy to spare. I realized the Mana Potion is still working I just don't feel jittery or have that “must move around” feeling which is really nice for when I actually want to sit down and watch a movie or play a game.
To sum it all up the Mana/Health Potions work although the are not as strong as 5 hour energy. I prefer the Mana Potion to the Health Potion though. The Mana Potion has a little more kick to it than the Health Potion and also the Health Potion lacks niacin. I don't know why but I love the feeling of heat rushing to my face mixed with that prickly feeling aka the niacin rush.
Pros:
- The Mana/Health Potions work. It's not just some gimmick for gamers to fall for.
-
Mana Potions give you a niacin rush.
-
The potions don't give you that “cracked out” feeling but give you an initial burst of energy followed by a steady almost unnoticeable flow of energy.
-
You get to pretend you are a toon drinking a mana or health pot.
Cons:
- The taste is horrible for both mana and health pots. Mana pots taste like super concentrated lemonade and the Health pots taste sweet at first but theres this weird after flavor. Drink it fast, chase it with water.
-
It's expensive at over $3 per 50ml bottle.
-
The Health Potion doesn't seem to work as well as the Mana Potion.
-
The Mana potion MAY give you a stomach ache if you drink it on an empty stomach (not the rushing to the bathroom kind of ache, just an ache that will go away in a couple minutes).
Last Thoughts:
Overall I'd say buy them. The potions work and you can pretend you are your toon in need of a quick boost to your MP/HP. I like the Mana potions, but I'm not a huge fan of the Health Potions because they don't work nearly as well. Also, just like 5 hour energy or any energy shot really, if you drink it on an empty stomach you MAY get a stomach ache.
