Unreal Tournament DLC

For those who play on PC or PS3, Midway’s and Epic’s upcoming Titan Pack for Unreal tournament will be free. It will not be available for 360 owners just yet. Perhaps someone has a grudge in the industry, but the bottom line is it’s free for PS3/PC owners starting March 3rd and there is no telling when it will reach 360, if ever. The update will cost your hard drive about 1 GB, and this is one of the reasons it will most likely not be released on 360.

Ubisoft and Your Mac
Good news for Mac owners. You might still be relatively gameless, but Ubisoft is releasing some popular titles on Mac, and then plan to release more in the future. Prince of Persia and Shaun White's Snowboarding. You can purchase these games from Game Tree Online, which is Ubisoft’s online store, or from retailers. This is a small step for Mac owners, but there is still a vast array of games that are being withheld.

Video Games and Kids

Someone has yet again tried to pass a law that makes selling mature video games to minors a crime. Yet again, they have failed. The Supreme Court decided that such a law was unconstitutional, since there are no laws prohibiting minors from buying R-rated movies. This is only one denied law in the long history of video game laws, and such wars regarding the negative influence of video games has been extremely expensive for the states. Satori Games tries not to take sides, but gamers can be glad that the courts have yet again rules in their favor. We can only expect to see more of these laws.

PC Game Sales Down

Due mostly to digital downloading, PC game sales are down by 50%. For this reason many developers are bringing their games to the consoles. Civilization: Revolution, for instance, was released on 360 and PS3 but not on PC, unlike every other game in the series. NDP says the PC gaming market is twice what the retail profits show. If you want PC games to stay around, don’t download them illegally, although we can pretty much guess that illegal downloading is here to stay.

PS3 Firmware 2.7

The new PS3 firmware has many rumors surrounding it. The credible rumors are that voice messaging will be an alternative to texting friends, although the message length is a maximum of 30 seconds. New additions to Gamer card and trophies have been made, as well as with the In-Game XMB. Other various tweaks and enhancements have been rumored, and we should expect playing PS3 to be an even more exciting experience.
