Super Smash Bros Brawl

"With Melee, the Smash Bros series made huge progress from the brilliant design of Smash Bros on the N64. Brawl took the achievements even further by far outclassing Melee in terms of content and game modes. Brawl delivers greatly on its promise of being a massive game, but doesn't shine so well in other obvious ways."

Mario Kart

"Mario Kart Wii just does that. It doesn't bring a whole lot of new ideas into the racing fray, but it implements each of its newer and classic ideas in an appropriate matter. Along with its well-implemented ideas, it also keeps the basics of what makes a game good, intact."

Animal Crossing: City Folk

"Animal Crossing made it's American debut in 2002. For the past six or seven years, we have spent countless hours talking to our animal friends and giving those priceless bells to that crazy raccoon, Tom Nook. Animal Crossing was a different kind of life-sim. One that was relaxing, easy and fun to play . . . "

Wii Fit

"When I received Wii Fit, I was essentially in it for the Balance Board, and ended up with the most family-friendly crowd game yet. While not a multiplayer hit, it gets the entire room going, laughing and holding their breath, as they watch the player (or players) rocking on the balance board."

World of Goo

"'The definition of Goo in the dictionary goes along the lines of "a thick or sticky substance". That's certainly what you play around with in 2D Boy's first release. Nobody would have thought messing with goo in a game would be so damn good but Kyle Gabler and Ron Carmel have managed to do it, and do it outstandingly."

No More Heroes

"Right from the get go this game is fun. Slicing and dicing with a "non-lightsaber" is exhilirating and rarely old. Even if you simply have to press A repeatedly. The art style and characterization is really what this game is all about, the harsh shadows and bright colors are a welcome change to the realism that most games strive to achieve . . . "
