My cousin Ryan and I went to the 2008 "E for All" show that brought us both to tears of disappointment and boredom. It was a three day show and we only lasted for about two days; however, the number of hours we were there for most likely equaled a day.

It was Saturday, the second day of the show, and Ryan and I were having lunch. We were talking about how awesome the old E3 was, the REAL E3, compared to this E for All show. We both became nostalgic for the past and when we used to write for gaming websites when all of a sudden Ryan said, “Hey, I've been thinking for a while now, but I think that we should start writing again. We should come up with our own website that covers video games.” I paused for a second, thinking, “Write again just to come to this crappy show?” But then I thought, “Hey, this show could actually become something if we give it a couple more years . . . maybe. In any case, it's more fun being media and interviewing people about their products than it is walking around and playing the games.” Afterward, I became very enthusiastic at Ryan's proposal and agreed that we should definitely make a new website and come to gaming shows once again in order to interview developers and write about video games.

Ryan and I, both excited and eager to get this project under way, rushed back to the show floor with a renewed purpose. We both got out our old transparent E3 media badges and placed them neatly over the E for All badges, getting ready to collect some information from the exhibitors inside to help start our website. We both walked a brisk pace over the show floor in the LA Convention Center's West Hall and neared our first target: Mana pots, the first of many companies our new website would cover.

After downing 260,000% of our daily value in Vitamin B12, we progressed through the show after the awesome mana pot fest and talked with many more people in hope of it becoming fruitful for our budding website. Finding more than our share of friendly developers and businesses, we knew within the year that our website would be established, and that hopefully E3 would return from the dead. Well, it happened, and Satori Games will see you there. Thanks for reading.

In July 2008 Satori Games was born after an utterly depressing visit to the "E 4 All" which turned out to be E 4 nothing. After a blow to the economy and to the gaming industry we all love, and are addicted to, we decided that gamers wanted only the best. At Satori Games we help you get your money's worth out of your consoles and computers. We provide the best advice on new gaming products and accessories, and we're devoted to not wasting your time with wordy intros, like this one, and to making everything on our site short and sweet. In essence, GameSpot and companies alike are the textbook versions of video game sites, and we are the Spark Notes. Hurry up and get gaming, we say.

Unlike some people who review products and games without having the full experience, we attend the shows, meet with the exhibitors, and play what we review for hours on end. Up above here we have our co-owner Deborah at the embarrassing E 4 All 2008 show that proved gaming can be boring. We did, however, get a glimpse at many of Intel's new inventions and ideas, and got our hands on some race cars and some Core i7 processors that blasted enough heat through the case to heat your home. We got a first look at Crysis Warhead at the show that marked the birth of our site, along with many other games we have reviewed. Now we're hopefully that E3 will return to the world.

I started gaming when I was about three years old. I started out on the Atari and then progressed from system to system as the years passed. The first game that caught my eye that I loved was a baseball game on the Atari. I actually thought it was red and blue ants running around hitting the balls *lol* but I loved it. I played games as a kid growing up with my cousin Ryan (co-owner of this site) and I still do to this day. I believe both of us share an equal love of video games but in different genres. I have a huge love of MMORPG's, RPG's, and DOA. I know it’s weird.  I don't just like any fighting game I love only DOA. I think its because there are no powers in it and there’s this ancient kind of Japanese style to it. That’s the best I can explain my love for only that game in the genre.

In high school I met this guy who also shared a love of video games like me and actually got me to start writing reviews and previews. He made a website and we started writing. I got my cousin Ryan into it also and eventually it led to us going to E3 for 4 years in a row (2001-2005)! The first time I went to E3 the high school guy said I needed a brown paper bag to breathe in I was so excited. Every year after that I still got the same amount of excitement just going and having a blast. The people that put the show together and the companies that design their booths are spectacular! TV screens so huge that sometimes you have to walk to see the end of it, sound systems that make the floor and even the air around you vibrate, set ups so big you think that maybe it just might be hitting the top of the LA convention centers ceiling!

Also, on a side note for my awesome sister Melissa, I have to tell you guys about her beauty boutique! If you are a chick and a gamer but want to stay looking like a chick and not butched up (yea I know from experience you play too many video games) go to her website: www.melissaraemakeup.com. I only use the products that she sells and uses for facials on my face. Its called Hylunia. It is top of the line up keep for your face so when you're 50 you can look 40 or younger. If you do live in the 92008 San Diego area or are just visiting you can visit her super chic beauty boutique and get your eyebrows reshaped, get a facial and or buy some beauty supplies(face wash etc) by Hylunia. I'm super proud of her and she is one of the best in the beauty business.

I started my saga in gaming with our furry friend Sonic. Since Sega Genesis, we've seen him crash into oddly placed walls because of glitchy camera angles, but the truth is that I owe my passion for gaming to him. Even though Sega plummeted to its humiliating death after Dreamcast and it's unprecedented batch of botched games, I continued on, albeit heartbroken. Now gaming is a tie to an illusionary world, one that I must get lost in temporarily to save my sanity. The nerve-racking traffic of Los Angeles freeways sends me to my room with greed for the controller, and I know most gamers feel the same. But that is what I love about gaming: the release from life. That is why we, on this website, try and offer our best advice to you in order that you may find the best release.

I take gaming with moderation, which is dissimilar to my childhood, but I figure that I don't want radioactive tumors in my brain until I'm at least 70. My plan was to win the lottery, retire at 29, and play Shenmue III on Dreamcast 2, but those things simply didn't happen. Now, between my work, school, and music, gaming continues to be my release - the time when my brain turns off and fun takes over.

Besides gaming, as I mentioned, I am very involved with writing music, poetry, and I am also currently writing a novel. Writing is my passion, and I recently released an album called "Two Dimensional Paradise" which you can check out under the links tab. Without music I have no purpose, and without games I have no release, and so they complement each other in that way. In both situations, I prefer to be in a solitary room to either write or play games until I get cabin fever and must rush outside to see a tree. While cabin fever is the desired condition, beware of its potential. Many a time my cousin Deborah and I have become too much under the influence of cabin fever and, after having downed four or five cokes each, nearly killed each other in a massive brawl for the last coke. Do not abuse it. But other than this occasional outbreak of unbridled hatred and unfathomable rage, gaming is an overall pleasant experience under such spells. I will continue these traditions, and I hope that my contribution to this website will help prolong your well-deserved days of hardcore gaming and coke-induced cabin fever.

Mainly I am a full-time student at Cal Poly Pomona, where I am working on my master's degree in English: Rhetoric & Composition. I graduated from Cal State Long Beach in English Education & Creative Writing, and minored in Anthropology. I love education and knowledge, because ignorance is not bliss. Game on, and may Shenmue III arrive in time for your grandchildren so that you can witness the last revelation.

I began gaming at around 5 years old when my father purchased an original NES system. Both of us would battle back and forth to see who could beat the game. After a few short weeks, I started beating him just about every time and that’s when he realized that I really enjoyed video games. A few years later I was given a Sega Genesis on my birthday and I didn’t play it much except for when my cousin Ryan would come over. We would play Bonanza and a NBA game and had a lot of fun. Over the years I have purchased and played the Playstation 1, Playstation 2 as well as the Nintendo 64. Currently I play Playstation 3 with PC games on the side, but my sister owns a Nintendo Wii which is fun to use when people are over.

My favorite games are usually shooters since I am a huge fan of competition, and I really like to get as good as I can at one particular game. Some games that I have devoted a lot of time to are Starcraft, Counter-Strike and World of Warcraft. I never got very good at Starcraft but I battled in LAN tournaments and played in competitive leagues for Counter-Strike. On the other hand, I was able to finally quit World of Warcraft permanently recently but did just about everything the game had to offer before doing so. My two favorite games of all time are Final Fantasy VII and Metal Gear Solid 4 and they both have their own reasons for being at my top spot.

I am a huge fan of football and try not to miss any games during the weekend. I don’t recommend watching any games with me because I am very emotional with football and scream pretty loud when things happen to teams that I cheer for. I also like to play guitar and play basketball in my spare time to relax. I have been reviewing games for roughly 4 years now and I have a lot of fun playing a game thoroughly to be able to write a review that might help someone decide on whether or not to purchase the game. Other than that, I am very good with computers and can help with most IT problems that people face.

My name is John Enfield.  I grew up in Nebraska, but now live in Fabulous Las Vegas.  I've been hooked on video games ever since my grandma bought me an Atari 2600 for Christmas when the system first came out.  I still have my 2600 and after cleaning the dust out of the inside of it a couple years back, it works like new.  I never personally owned another console until I graduated college.  I played games on my friends' systems like the NES, SNES, N64, Game Boy and Sega Genesis when I'd go over to visit them.  I sometimes got to play the coin-op arcade games at the one bar in our small town or at an actual arcade when we'd make trips to one of the bigger towns in the area.

From the time that I bought my first computer in 1995, I was all about the computer games.  I didn't buy my own game consoles until the Game Cube came out.  Shortly after, I found an Xbox and a PS2 at a pawn shop.  It wasn't until that generation of consoles that I began to be impressed with what console games could be compared to my computer games.

I now have an Xbox 360, Wii, DSi, NES, SNES, PS One and a Sega Genesis.  I still play on my computer, but I find that things have reversed in that I now spend more time on consoles than I do on my PC.  I especially love my DSi because I can take it with me and it has many games that make clever use of the touch screen.  I think I enjoy the 8, 16 and 32 bit classic games more now than I did when I was a kid.  The newest games are amazing, but there is a certain charm to the older games.  I'm so glad that you can now get many of the classic games on newer systems.  Playing classic games on their original systems is the best, but some consoles and original cartridges are pretty hard to find.

I've had many jobs over the years, but I'm currently working at a classic video game store and I have a home-based computer repair business.  My wife, Joani, is a kindergarten teacher.  She also has a DSi and we have a lot of fun playing games co-op or against each other.  She's better at platformer, puzzle and rhythm games than I am while I tend to be better at racing, shooting and strategy games.

To me, writing and reading about video games is just as much fun as playing them.  That's why I love websites like Satori Games where you can read about games and talk about them with other gamers.  I hope you like my reviews and I look forward to talking with you on the message boards.

I began gaming when I was 4 years old on the NES. I remember two games in particular that I spent an unhealthy amount of time playing with my brother: Rush'n Attack and Bubble Bobble. While Rush'n Attack continually beat me to a pulp, I must have beaten Bubble Bobble at least 100 times. Once the 16-bit era began I hit it in full stride with a Sega Genesis and an SNES. Sonic the Hedgehog, and Street Fighter II were my favorites of this time period. Of course following this trend, I had a 32X, Playstation 1, N64, Dreamcast, multiple Game Boys, and a Game Gear. I also own a system currently that almost no one has ever heard of, a Panasonic 3DO. Yeah, I'm old school :P

My favorite genre of game is shooters, first person preferably. Doom was my catalyst. I remember filling at least one pair of underwear from late nights playing it. I then moved on to Alien Trilogy for PS1 and the legendary Goldeneye on the N64. In early 2000 I discovered the game engine that was going to consume my life for the next 5 years: Half-Life. I was a HARDCORE team fortress classic player and competed in the highest tiers of league gaming for it. I was also a huge Day of Defeat and Counter-Strike fan.

As for my real world life, I currently serve active duty in the Army, and have been in for 4 1/2 years now. I'm stationed out in the middle of the desert at Ft. Irwin, CA but it gives me an opportunity to do other things as well, like riding my dirt bike and shooting guns.

I began reading Gamepro when I was 9 years old and dreamed of being a game magazine editor ever since. So I just want thank everyone for this opportunity, and I hope you enjoy my articles :)

Gaming for me started in China.  I was born in Chong Qing, China, a big city that lacked just about every gaming console besides PC. My cousin had a PC which was good enough for me to play some games that were much like The Sims. I became obsessed with games that dealt with making a movie star out of nobody, the type of RPG that isn't very popular in America. These games had that WoW-quality which made you want to play for days and days in order to customize your character and build their skills. After that, gaming was simply a regular part of my life.

Now I can't get enough of The Sims, just like so many other girls. Building houses, maintaining families, and bringing my characters up from unemployment to stardom are my main goals in the game, and I've been playing The Sims 2 ever since it came out. As I wait for The Sims 3, I also enjoy DDR on Wii, and several other Wii games because I love anything interactive, and it gets me to exercise, which would otherwise not happen. Some people try to argue that gamers aren't lazy, but it's just not true for the most part.

Besides gaming, I work full-time at Bank of America as a personal banker and as a teller. I enjoy working with people, but when people get too annoying I always have a game to come home too. Fake people are easier to deal with. Traveling is my hobby, but I don't get enough time for it. Visiting my family in China is something I look forward to, and now that I've graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a BA in Fashion Design, I can now work full time and earn enough money to travel and do the things I love to do, but gaming will always remain a passion in my life.

Many years ago my When I was 5 years old my parents bought my brother and I a Sega Genesisi,. After playing countless hours of games on it, (especially Altered Beast, which I never did beat untill about a year ago) I was hooked.

Nowadays I spend my time playing WOW and Warhammer with friends, but I also make a little time for the classic games (currently FF7 and FF8) as those games never get old. Aside from gaming I enjoy bike riding and hanging out when friends. But when I'm not doing any of those things I usually can be found working on some website for either my portfolio or a friend.

Besides gaming I currently work part-time at Petco while I look for a full-time job in the Web Design industry. I am also currently looking into getting my Bachelors degree.
